FINALLY. After a billion attempts, culmonating in a couple of hours play (necessary, as from final save to boss is almost an hour), I finished it. Overall, it’s an excellent Pikminy game, with just two annoying bits – a hard boss near the start, and a takes-too-long-to-reach and difficult boss at the end.
The last few times I’ve played this, I’ve managed to reach the end of game boss. The problem is, he’s almost an hour from the previous save point and although if you die, you can continue from the boss again, if you have to stop playing and turn off your Wii, you’re stuffed. So I’ve been stuffed three times now. Bah.
Still working through this, a bit each day (well, most days), and I’m now just over 24 hours in. I’ve defeated the three kings in and around Skull Plains, and now have to make my assault on the New Island, which is full of really, really difficult baddies. I also made the mistake earlier of walking into a zombie trap. They closed the way out behind me, I couldn’t warp back to the castle, and you can’t kill them all …
After a bit of a break from this due to all the retro stuff I was playing over the pat few weeks, I’ve got back into it recently. I trained my first few gourmet cooks up, defeated the pinball boss bloke, found two parts for the spacecraft, and explored the Skull Plains. Got this for my birthday just over a month ago, and started playing it after Burnout last Saturday. I was surprised that, despite having a baby at Christmas last year, I was still able to play games in 2009. It seems babies sleep!
